The young Hungarian tenor holds Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, and the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest. He studied singing with prof. Margit Klaushofer, Robert Holl, Éva Bátori, Magda Nádor, Dénes Gulyás and acting with Eszter Novák, Tamás Ascher, György Selmeczi, Sándor Zsótér.
In 2012 he made his international debut at the Theater and der Wien, where he sang Anfinomo in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria by Monteverdi (conducted by Christoph Rousset, directed by Claus Guth).
Between 2012 and 2016 he was the member of Theater Bonn, and he is also a returning performer of the Hungarian State Opera. In the summer 2016 he debuted as Nemorino at the Festspiele St. Margarethen.
Between 2016 and 2018 Tamás was a member of Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz München.
His most important roles include Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) Ernesto (Don Pasquale) Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Nadir (Les pêcheurs de perles), Narraboth (Salome), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Jaquino (Fidelio), Jephtha (by Händel), Alfred (Die Fledermaus) and Il conte di Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia).
He worked with outstanding conductors, such as Christoph Rousset, Stefan Soltész, János Kovács, Erich Wächter, Péter Halász, György Vashegyi, Stefan Blunier, Karsten Januschke, Hendrik Vestmann, Robin Engelen.
Apart from recitals he also sings in oratorios as soloist. His repertoire includes: J. S. Bach Magnificat and cantatas, G. F. Händel: Jephtha, J. Haydn: Nelson Mass, J. Haydn: Die Schöpfung, J. Haydn: Die Jahreszeiten, W. A. Mozart: Requiem, F. Mendelssohn: Paulus, F. Mendelssohn: Elias).
Since 2016 Tamás Tarjányi has been artistic director of the Crescendo Summer Institute and Festival in Hungary
